Project Overview
St. Xavier’s is a secondary school serving hundreds of families, where every term brings admission rushes, exam routines, and timetable changes. As parent expectations for instant information grew, the gap between the physical notice board and families’ phones kept widening — and the office phone never stopped ringing. Before this portal, announcements traveled through pinned paper, forwarded chat messages, and students’ memories. Dates confused parents across Bikram Sambat and Gregorian calendars, admission seekers queued at the gate for basic facts, and every website update waited on a developer. iSoftro stepped in with a database-driven portal: page copy lives in editable tables seeded by an installer, notices publish with printable PDFs, and the calendar speaks both BS and AD — so staff run the site without touching code.

The Challenge
A school communicates with four audiences at once — and paper plus chat threads could not keep any of them reliably informed. Exam routines pinned to one board never reached working parents, Bikram Sambat dates collided with Gregorian dates at home, prospective families queued at the gate every admission season, and routine updates waited on technical help so the site went stale exactly when families needed it most.
Our Solution
We designed an information backbone that maps directly to the school year: admissions, terms, exams, notices, and results — in both calendars families use. Every announcement publishes once with a printable PDF and archive history, FullCalendar views render every event in Bikram Sambat and Gregorian side by side, admissions facts live in one hub, and teachers and office staff draft, queue, and publish themselves with principal approval where it matters.
